A few weeks ago it was reported that Netflix has partnered with Marvel Comics to produce a few TV shows based on Marvel superheroes, including Daredevil: The Man Without Fear. It has been rumored that Michael C. Hall was being considered for the role of Daredevil in the planned Netflix series and last night, he was asked about the possibility of becoming the red devil costumed superhero. MCH revealed that he would “definitely consider” the role if it were offered to him but, he clarifies, talk of him starring in a Daredevil TV series is just rumor at this point.
Netflix and Marvel Studios are bringing comic book hero Daredevil to the streaming service for a new series, and according to online gossip, Michael C. Hall is the big name being eyed for the lead. Last night, at the premiere of Hall’s new Broadway venture The Realistic Joneses, we asked the actor about those juicy rumors. “I’ve heard them, but I think that’s all they are — rumors,” Hall said. “Don’t misunderstand, I would definitely consider it … but I can’t tell you any inside information, because I think they’re nothing but rumors.” With Dexter so recent in his rear view, would he really be open to returning to TV so quickly? “I really am enjoying mixing it up a little bit, and I’m committing to things that have a foreseeable end in sight when I start them,” admitted Hall, “but I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of [a new series] happening at some point. But I’d have to read the script!”
As you may recall, Ben Affleck played Daredevil in a pretty terrible movie back in 2003 so it’s time that the character get rebooted. I would LOVE to see MCH in the role of Daredevil/Matt Murdock. Daredevil is one of my fave comic book characters (he is my second favorite Marvel hero behind Spider-Man). I think Hall would give the character new life and would have the ability to make the character hugely popular, the way he should be. Now that Netflix/Marvel know that MCH would be up for considering the role, maybe they’ll wizen up and offer him the part. Any Daredevil fans out there?
